Getting started

What is this website?

We are a Christian ministry. Here you find our e-books, a daily devotional, Bible-based articles on the blog and a library of free classic Christian books. You can read everything in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, without installing an app.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to read the devotionals and the blog or to browse the books. To read a book (also a free one), you need a free account, so the website can keep the book in your library and remember the page you reached.

How do I create an account?

Choose Register, enter your name, email address and a password, and confirm your email address with the link we send you. New accounts may need a short approval by our team; you get an email as soon as you can sign in.

I did not receive the confirmation email. What can I do?

Look in your spam or "Promotions" folder first. If it is not there, sign in and choose Send a new link. Check that the address is spelled correctly. If it still does not arrive, contact us and we will help.

How do I find a book?

Open Books. You can search by title or author and filter by category, language and price, for example "Free". Every book page shows a description, the formats and, when available, a sample to read.

Free books

What are the free books?

Besides our own books, we offer classic Christian books free of charge: writers such as Andrew Murray, Charles Spurgeon, John Bunyan, E. M. Bounds and the early church fathers, on prayer, the Christian life, theology, revival, missions and the family. These books are in the public domain, which means their copyright has ended, so we may share them freely. Each book page names the source of the text.

How do I read a free book?

Open the book page and choose Add to my library, free. The book appears in My library; choose Read online. It costs nothing, and you do not need to enter any payment details.

Can I download a free book?

Free books are read online on your phone, tablet or computer, and you can save them for offline reading. Whether the file itself can be downloaded depends on the book: for some it is possible straight away; for others you see Ask to download in your library. Tell us briefly why you need the file (for example to print a chapter for a study group) and our team will reply with a notification.

May I share a free book with others?

Yes, please tell others about it. The easiest way is to send them the link to the book page, so they can add it to their own library. The old texts themselves are in the public domain; the layout and covers of our editions belong to the ministry.

Why does the language in some classic books sound old-fashioned?

The free classics are faithful copies of editions printed 100 years ago or more, so they keep the spelling, Bible translation (usually the King James Version) and style of their time. Their teaching has helped Christians for generations. Some older books also reflect views of their time that we would express differently today.

Reading on your phone, tablet or computer

Which devices can I read on?

Any phone, tablet or computer with a current browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox). Open My library, choose the book and Read online. The reader adjusts to the screen; on a phone, turn it sideways for larger pages. No app is needed.

Can I put the website on my home screen like an app?

Yes. On iPhone or iPad, open the website in Safari, tap the Share button and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the browser menu (three dots) and choose Add to home screen or Install app. The website then opens like an app.

Does the reader remember where I stopped?

Yes. Your place is saved in your account, so you can start reading on your phone and continue on your computer. You can also set bookmarks and search inside the book.

Can I read without internet?

Yes. In your library, open the book and choose Save for offline reading. The book is stored in this browser on this device, so you can read it on a journey or where the connection is poor. It stays available for a limited number of days; go online once to renew it. When you sign out, saved books are removed from the browser.

How many times can I download a book I bought?

Each bought book can be downloaded a limited number of times (usually five). The number left is shown on the book in your library, and download links are valid for a few minutes. Reading online never uses a download. If you have used them all, contact us.

Why is my name shown in the reader?

Our own books carry a light watermark with the reader's name. It protects the work of the authors and the ministry. Please keep bought files for your own use and point friends to the book page instead of sending them the file.

Can I make the text larger?

Yes. In the reader, use the zoom buttons for PDF books and the larger and smaller text buttons for EPUB books, or zoom with two fingers on a phone or tablet. You can also choose a light, sepia or dark page colour.

Buying and payment

How can I pay?

The checkout shows the payment methods available in your country, for example card, PayPal, Paystack or bank transfer. Prices are charged in the shop currency; prices in other currencies are shown as a guide.

I paid by bank transfer. When do I get my book?

After you place the order, the payment page shows our account details and the reference to use. Please always use that reference. The book arrives in your library as soon as our team sees the money on the account, usually within one or two working days; you get an email.

Where do I find my receipt?

A PDF receipt is attached to the payment email and can be downloaded at any time under Orders.

Can I give a book as a gift?

Yes. At checkout, tick Send these books to someone else and enter their email address. They receive the books in their own library, even if they do not have an account yet.

My payment went through but the book is not in my library.

Card and PayPal payments usually arrive within a minute. Refresh My library. If the book is still missing after 15 minutes, open a request under Support with your order number. You will not be charged twice.

Something is wrong with my order. Can I get a refund?

Please open a request under Support with your order number and tell us what happened. Our team looks at every case; approved refunds are paid back with the payment method you used.

The reading pass

What is the reading pass?

When we offer it, the reading pass lets you read every book marked "Included in the reading pass" online for the months you choose, for one price.

Does the reading pass renew automatically?

No. You pay once; nothing is charged again. We remind you by email before the end. If you buy again before the end, the new months are added on top.

What happens when my pass ends?

The pass books are paused in your library. Your bookmarks and reading progress are kept for when you come back. Books you bought or added for free stay yours. Pass books are read online; to download one, buy it.

Devotionals and blog

Is there a new devotional every day?

Yes. A new devotional appears every day under Devotionals, with a Bible verse, a short reflection and a prayer. Earlier days stay available in the calendar.

Can I read the devotionals and blog in German?

Yes. Use the language menu on the page to switch between English and German when a version exists; the website remembers your choice. Signed-in readers can also set a preferred reading language in Profile.

Why do I see devotionals from other ministries?

Below our devotional we point to the daily devotionals of other trusted ministries, with a short summary and a link to read them on their own website. When we write our own devotional inspired by one of them, the original is named at the end under "Source".

Which Bible translation do you use?

Our devotionals usually quote the King James Version in English and the Luther Bible (1912) in German, because both may be quoted freely. Other translations are named where they are used.

Prayer, help and contact

Can I send a prayer request?

Yes. Use the prayer request box on the devotional page. Your request goes only to our prayer team; it is never published, and it is deleted after a period. You may leave out your name.

How do I contact you?

Signed in, open Support and start a request; you can follow the answer there and add a screenshot. Without an account, use the contact form. The Help pages explain the website step by step.

What is the assistant?

The assistant is an AI helper that answers questions about books, orders and the website using our own information. It can make mistakes, so for anything important about your order, please contact our team.

Your account, privacy and security

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password? and enter your email address. We send you a link to choose a new password; it is valid for a short time.

How do I protect my account?

Use a long password that you do not use anywhere else, and switch on two-step verification under Security. You then confirm each sign-in with a code from an authenticator app on your phone.

What do you do with my data?

We use your data only to run your account, deliver your books and answer you. We do not sell it. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach our server. Details are in our privacy policy.

How do I get a copy of my data or delete my account?

Under Privacy & data you can download a copy of your data or ask for your account to be deleted. Deletion happens after a short waiting period, so you can change your mind. Receipts are kept, without your name, for as long as the law requires.

What are reading lists and favourite authors?

On a book page, choose Save to a reading list to collect books, for example for a study group; a list can be shared with a link. On an author page, choose Add to favourite authors and you get a notification when they have a new book. Manage both under Reading lists.
