Day 02 of 31

The Evil Days

Ready for every season of life

Today's Scripture

“...while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”
Ecclesiastes 12:1b KJV

Opening thought

Everything under heaven happens at its appointed time, and time regulates all human activity. The wise man said, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven" (Ecclesiastes 3:1, KJV).

The devotional message

Good Days and Bad Days

There are good days and there are bad days in life. As followers of Christ, we must remember that Jesus did not promise us a trouble-free life. In fact, He said, "...that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation..." (John 16:33, KJV).

Problems abound in life, and no one is immune to them. They may come as sickness, failure, rejection, persecution, or even the death of loved ones. Everyone you see is going through something. Some are just coming out of their troubles, some are going through them now, and others are preparing to go through the troubles of life. We are not free from the troubles of the flesh.

How Prepared Are You?

Evil days are coming. How prepared are you? They may come in your old age. Are you prepared to deal with them until your last breath?

Knowing Jesus Christ and having Him in your heart is one of the ways to stay victorious in the journey of life. Be ready!

Closing prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that every season of my life is in Your hands. Lord Jesus, You told us plainly that in the world we would have tribulation, and that in You we would have peace. Prepare my heart now for the days that are hard. Help me to know You more deeply, to keep You in my heart, and to stand firm until my last breath. Remember those around me who are going through difficult times today. In Jesus' name, amen.
